About Jec Aristotle Ballou
I was raised in a horse training family in Vermont, studied dressage throughout Europe, and eventually settled in California. About 15 years ago, I realized that most of the problems riders struggled with stemmed from their horses not using their bodies well. They lacked strength or coordination, they had muscle imbalances, they were stiff, and so on. Meanwhile, horse training had become too specialized and way too complicated.
We needed simple, straightforward tools to help horses use their bodies optimally.
This prompted me to write my first book in 2005, 101 Dressage Exercises for Horse and Rider, which was endorsed by the United States Dressage Federation as critical for every rider to own. Three other books followed, all of which have been translated in to foreign languages and widely trusted around the world for helping horses regain freedom of movement, an enjoyment of exercise, and strong bodies.
Today, I work with students and their equine partners across the globe through my publications, customized fitness plans, online courses, and in-person clinics. I hope to work with you soon.
Event Details and Registration
When and Where: May 9th & 10th, 2026 at the Ozaukee Fairgrounds W67N866 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, WI 53012
Saturday: Saturday will consist of small group sessions (4-5 horses) that will focus on specific exercises. Participants are welcome to register for multiple sessions. Horses will be grouped based on experience.

Sunday: Sunday will consist of private lessons.

Book Signing: Join us for LUNCH and bring your books! Exclusive time will be reserved for Book Signing. Meals included for paid participants and prepaid/registered auditors.

Facility: The entire event will take place at the Ozaukee County Fairgrounds in Cedarburg, WI. (W67N866 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, WI 53012) The facility includes an indoor arena and stall barn along with 2 large outdoor arenas. Lectures will take place in the Main Hall across the parking lot. Overnight trailer hook-ups are available.

Auditing: $45 per day or $65 for the weekend (Lunch & Book signing included with pre-registration)
